Described by Jazzwise as part of ‘the shape of jazz to come’ in both 2018 and 2019, saxophonist Alex Hitchcock is joined by three of the UK’s most acclaimed improvising musicians in Will Barry (Jasper Hoiby), Fergus Ireland (Ashley Henry) and Shane Forbes (Empirical).

The group won the prestigious Peter Whittingham Jazz Award in 2018, which will see them release a limited run of vinyl and collaborate with animators and videographers, debuting all-new material in late 2019. This new band plays original music that is firmly rooted in the jazz tradition, but the powerhouse rhythm section is unafraid to take the music in bold new directions. Expect driving contemporary swing as well as propulsive grooves and virtuosic soloing.
